Job Description

Prepares or oversees preparation of all MIDC reports and funding requests, and reports to City of Detroit. Develops and manages plans for compliance with MIDC Standards, including policies, programs and costs. Negotiates and manages indigent defense counsel contracts for the 36th District Court. Receive and review billing invoices to ensure accuracy, and document MIDC compliance. Responsible for public defender scheduling, coordination and case assignment notification. Supervises and manages of Indigent Defense Counsel staff in furtherance of MIDC grant agreement. Defines and inspires organizational culture, motivates employees.

Job Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a lawyer or administrator within the criminal justice system

  • Proficiency in public policy advocacy and communication with criminal justice system stakeholders

  • Experience with management of budget and personnel and data
