
Park Maintenance Supervisor

- Oversee and manage a team of park maintenance staff, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
- Develop and implement maintenance plans for all parks and green spaces within the City of Detroit.
- Conduct regular inspections of parks to assess maintenance needs and address any issues in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and schedule maintenance tasks, including mowing, landscaping, trash removal, and repairs.
- Ensure that all equipment and tools are properly maintained and in safe working condition.
- Monitor and manage the budget for park maintenance, making recommendations for improvements or cost-saving measures.
- Collaborate with other city departments and external contractors to complete larger maintenance projects.
- Maintain records and reports on park maintenance activities, including work completed, materials used, and any incidents or accidents.
- Enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure the safety of park visitors and maintenance staff.
- Act as a liaison between the city and community groups or volunteers interested in participating in park maintenance projects.
- Stay up-to-date on industry standards and best practices for park maintenance and implement them as appropriate.
- Respond to and resolve any complaints or concerns from park visitors regarding maintenance issues.
- Assist in the hiring and onboarding of new park maintenance staff.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment for all park maintenance staff.
- Continuously evaluate and improve park maintenance processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Bachelor's Degree In Parks And Recreation Management Or Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Park Maintenance, Including Supervisory Experience.
Knowledge Of Park Maintenance Techniques, Equipment, And Safety Protocols.
Strong Leadership And Communication Skills, With The Ability To Manage And Motivate A Team.
Proficiency In Budget Management And Project Planning.
