  1. Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on the city's vehicles and equipment.
  2. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues and provide effective solutions.
  3. Perform inspections and ensure that all vehicles and equipment are in compliance with safety standards.
  4. Keep accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed on each vehicle and piece of equipment.
  5. Collaborate with other team members to prioritize and complete repair tasks in a timely manner.
  6. Source and order necessary parts and materials for repairs.
  7. Communicate with supervisors and other department personnel regarding maintenance and repair needs.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  9. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  10. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement and provide suggestions for streamlining repair processes.
  11. Stay up-to-date with advancements in technology and equipment to ensure efficient and effective repairs.
  12. Foster a positive and professional working relationship with team members and other departments.
  13. Provide excellent customer service to citizens and city employees who utilize the vehicles and equipment.
  14. Adhere to department policies and procedures, as well as city and state regulations.
  15. Attend training and professional development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge in vehicle and equipment repair.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Basic Educational Background Is Required For A Repair Mechanic Position To Ensure Understanding Of Technical Manuals And Safety Protocols.

  • Automotive Repair Certification: Candidates Must Have A Valid Certification From An Accredited Automotive Repair Program, Demonstrating Their Knowledge And Skills In Vehicle Repair.

  • Prior Experience In Automotive Repair: A Minimum Of 2-3 Years Of Experience In Automotive Repair Is Preferred, With A Strong Understanding Of Vehicle Systems And Components.

  • Proficiency In Using Diagnostic Equipment And Tools: Repair Mechanics Must Be Familiar With Various Diagnostic Tools And Equipment Used To Troubleshoot And Identify Vehicle Issues, Such As Scan Tools And Multimeters.

  • Strong Mechanical And Technical Skills: A Repair Mechanic Should Have A Good Understanding Of How Vehicles Work And Be Able To Perform Repairs On Various Systems, Including Engines, Transmissions, And Electrical Components.
