Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl): The City Of Detroit Requires All Transportation Equipment Operators To Possess A Valid Cdl In Order To Operate Various Types Of Vehicles, Including Trucks, Buses, And Heavy Equipment.
Experience In Operating Transportation Equipment: Candidates For This Role Should Have Prior Experience In Operating Transportation Equipment, Such As Dump Trucks, Snow Plows, Or Street Sweepers. This Experience Should Be Demonstrated Through Previous Employment Or Training.
Knowledge Of Traffic Laws And Regulations: Transportation Equipment Operators Must Have A Strong Understanding Of Traffic Laws And Regulations In Order To Safely Operate Vehicles On City Streets. Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Regulations Is Also Required.
Physical Fitness And Stamina: This Job Requires Physical Strength And Endurance As Transportation Equipment Operators May Be Required To Lift Heavy Objects, Work In Inclement Weather Conditions, And Perform Physically Demanding Tasks For Extended Periods Of Time.
Good Communication And Teamwork Skills: As Part Of A Larger Team, Transportation Equipment Operators Must Have Strong Communication Skills And The Ability To Work Well With Others. They May Be Required To Communicate With Other Team Members, Supervisors, And The General Public While On The Job.
