
Planner
The Planner III position performs tasks assigned directly through the Director of Planning and Development including research, analysis of data, preparation of written documents, and review of proposals and programs. Understand the elements of land use concept plans, detailed site plans, and property site analysis. Performs complex research on proposed projects. Writes technical reports and maintains a wide variety of records. Monitor, evaluate and coordinate on-going planning processes to align with master plan implementation.
3 years of professional planning experience in a planning office, private sector, or non-profit organization
Knowledge of urban planning principles and practice
Knowledge of social, economic, and environmental issues facing Flint.
Familiarity with Geographical Information Systems (GIS) mapping software is highly desirable
