As a vital member of our electrical services department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our city's power distribution system.   1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on the city's power distribution system.
  2. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with power lines and other electrical equipment.
  3. Respond to emergency calls and outages to restore power to the community.
  4. Operate specialized equipment, such as bucket trucks, to reach high voltage lines.
  5. Install new power lines and equipment as needed.
  6. Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  7. Collaborate with other lineworkers and department staff to efficiently complete tasks.
  8. Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
  9. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members to coordinate tasks and schedules.
  10. Continuously improve skills and knowledge through training and professional development opportunities.
  11. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  12. Represent the city in a professional and courteous manner when interacting with residents and businesses.
  13. Adhere to all city and department policies and procedures.
  14. Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.
  15. Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 3 Years Experience As A Journeyman Lineworker Or Equivalent.

  • Completion Of A Certified Lineworker Apprenticeship Program.

  • Valid Journeyman Lineworker License From The State Of Michigan.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of The National Electrical Safety Code And Osha Regulations.

  • Ability To Climb And Work On Utility Poles, As Well As Operate Heavy Equipment And Tools Safely.
