  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various types of fire equipment, including fire engines, ladder trucks, and ambulances
  • Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to ensure it is in proper working order and meets safety standards
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner
  • Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed on equipment
  • Communicate with and provide support to firefighters regarding equipment issues and maintenance needs
  • Stay up-to-date on industry advancements and changes in safety regulations to ensure compliance
  • Order necessary parts and supplies and maintain inventory levels to ensure timely repairs
  • Coordinate with other mechanics and departments to schedule routine maintenance and repairs in a timely and efficient manner
  • Proactively identify potential safety hazards and make recommendations for improvements or repairs
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the equipment.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Repairing And Maintaining Fire Equipment, Preferably In A Municipal Or Government Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Fire Department Operations And Equipment, Including Pumps, Hoses, And Protective Gear.

  • Ability To Troubleshoot And Diagnose Mechanical Issues, And Perform Necessary Repairs And Adjustments.

  • Experience With Welding, Fabrication, And Electrical Systems Related To Fire Equipment.

  • Valid Driver's License And Ability To Obtain A Commercial Driver's License (Cdl) Within 6 Months Of Hire.
