
Crime Analyst
The Crime Analyst is responsible for compiling and reviewing data regarding criminal activity; systematically analyzing data to identify and formulate conclusions about crime trends. Develops and maintains manual and automated systems for storage and retrieval of crime information; manages the data maintained for ease of access and clear portrayal of trends. Prepares and generates a variety of reports including statistical reports, and local, state and federal mandated reports. Initiates and disseminates crime analysis reports and bulletins for patrol and investigations. Assists with the development of agency tactics, strategies and planning in response to real time data and crime trends. Assists with training, developing, and mentoring part-time staff including assigning and reviewing work.
Three years of progressively responsible experience in a public or government agency conducting analysis
Possession of and ability to maintain crime analysis certification.
