  1. Develop and implement disease prevention and control programs to improve the health and well-being of the community.
  2. Lead and manage initiatives to promote and protect the health of residents in Jersey City.
  3. Stay up-to-date on current public health trends and best practices to inform program development.
  4. Collaborate with other city departments, community organizations, and healthcare providers to ensure a comprehensive approach to disease prevention and control.
  5. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.
  6. Develop and manage program budgets and allocate resources effectively.
  7. Provide guidance and support to program staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to effectively carry out their roles.
  8. Communicate program goals, progress, and outcomes to key stakeholders, including city officials and community members.
  9. Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for program initiatives.
  10. Stay informed about local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines related to disease prevention and control and ensure compliance.
  11. Use data and evidence-based practices to inform decision-making and program development.
  12. Represent the city and the program at community events and meetings.
  13. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities for program improvement and innovation.
  15. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of program management.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Disease Prevention And Control: A Program Manager In This Role Should Possess A Strong Understanding Of Disease Prevention And Control Strategies, Including Knowledge Of Different Diseases, Their Causes, And Methods For Preventing Their Spread.

  • Experience In Program Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Program Management, Preferably In The Field Of Disease Prevention And Control. This Includes Experience In Developing, Implementing, And Evaluating Programs, As Well As Managing Budgets And Resources.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As A Program Manager, Effective Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential. The Candidate Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate With Stakeholders At All Levels, Including Government Officials, Community Leaders, And Healthcare Professionals.

  • Leadership And Team Management Skills: The Program Manager Should Have Demonstrated Experience In Leading And Managing A Team To Achieve Program Goals. This Includes The Ability To Delegate Tasks, Provide Guidance And Support, And Foster A Positive And Collaborative Work Environment.

  • Knowledge Of Public Health Policies And Regulations: A Strong Understanding Of Public Health Policies And Regulations At The Local, State, And Federal Levels Is Crucial For This Role. The Candidate Should Be Able To Navigate And Comply With Relevant Policies And Regulations While Developing And Implementing Disease Prevention And Control Programs.
