  3. Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal public health regulations and guidelines.
  4. Prepare detailed reports and documentation of findings, including recommendations for corrective actions and follow-up measures.
  5. Communicate effectively with individuals and organizations involved in public health investigations, including patients, healthcare providers, and business owners, using tact and diplomacy.
  6. Educate the community about public health risks and provide guidance on preventative measures and available resources.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of investigations and other relevant information.
  8. Stay informed about current public health issues, regulations, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
  9. Act as a liaison between the public health department and other city departments, community organizations, and the general public.
  10. Adhere to ethical and legal standards for handling sensitive and confidential information related to public health investigations.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Public Health Or Related Field: A Strong Foundation In Public Health Principles And Practices Is Essential For A Public Health Investigator, And A Bachelor's Degree In This Field Demonstrates A Solid Understanding Of The Subject Matter.

  • Knowledge Of Epidemiology And Disease Surveillance: Public Health Investigators Must Be Well-Versed In Epidemiological Methods And Disease Surveillance Techniques In Order To Effectively Investigate And Control Outbreaks Of Infectious Diseases.

  • Experience In Conducting Investigations And Collecting Data: Previous Experience In Conducting Investigations And Collecting Data Is A Valuable Qualification For A Public Health Investigator. This Experience Can Come From Working In A Public Health Agency, Healthcare Setting, Or Other Relevant Field.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: Public Health Investigators Must Be Able To Effectively Communicate Complex Information To A Variety Of Audiences, Including Healthcare Professionals, Community Members, And Government Officials. Strong Interpersonal Skills Are Also Important For Building Relationships And Collaborating With Other Agencies And Organizations.

  • Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Public Health Regulations: A Thorough Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Public Health Regulations Is Essential For A Public Health Investigator. This Includes Knowledge Of Relevant Laws, Regulations, And Policies Related To Disease Control And Prevention, As Well As Reporting Requirements And Confidentiality Guidelines.
