The City of Jersey City is seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a School Traffic Guard. As a vital member of our community, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our students during their daily commute.   1. Monitor and control traffic flow in designated school zones during peak hours.
  2. Ensure the safety and well-being of students and pedestrians as they cross the street.
  3. Direct traffic and manage busy intersections to prevent accidents and promote efficient flow.
  4. Communicate effectively with drivers, pedestrians, and fellow traffic guards to maintain order and safety.
  5. Report any traffic violations or safety concerns to appropriate authorities.
  6. Maintain a high level of awareness and alertness at all times while on duty.
  7. Follow and enforce all traffic laws and regulations to maintain a safe environment for students.
  8. Work closely with school officials and local law enforcement to coordinate traffic control efforts.
  9. Attend regular training and meetings to stay updated on traffic safety procedures and protocols.
  10. Serve as a positive role model for students and promote safe and responsible behavior around traffic.
  11. Provide excellent customer service to all community members, including students, parents, and drivers.
  12. Maintain accurate records and documentation of daily traffic activities and incidents.
  13. Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate safety gear while on duty.
  14. Be available to work flexible hours, including early mornings and afternoons, to coincide with school schedules.
  15. Continuously monitor and evaluate traffic patterns to suggest improvements for increased safety and efficiency.
