  1. Perform tire repair and replacement on a variety of city vehicles, including cars, trucks, and buses.
  2. Inspect tires for wear and damage, and determine the appropriate course of action for repair or replacement.
  3. Mount, balance, and rotate tires following established procedures and safety guidelines.
  4. Maintain accurate records of all tire services performed, including tire condition and mileage.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored.
  6. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
  7. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding tire services needed and completed.
  8. Keep up-to-date with industry standards and advancements in tire repair and replacement techniques.
  9. Assist with other vehicle maintenance and repair tasks as needed.
  10. Provide excellent customer service to all city employees and residents who utilize our services.
  11. Follow all city policies and procedures regarding vehicle maintenance and safety.
  12. Attend training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  13. Maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude while representing the City of Jersey City.
  14. Collaborate with team members to improve processes and increase efficiency.
  15. Continuously evaluate and suggest improvements to the tire service program to ensure the safety and functionality of city vehicles.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Basic Education Level Is Required For This Position To Ensure The Ability To Understand And Follow Safety Procedures, Read And Interpret Work Orders, And Perform Basic Mathematical Calculations.

  • Previous Experience In Tire Repair: Candidates Should Have At Least 1-2 Years Of Experience In Tire Repair Or A Related Field, Such As Automotive Maintenance Or Mechanics. This Experience Will Demonstrate The Necessary Skills And Knowledge For The Job.

  • Knowledge Of Tire Repair Equipment And Techniques: Applicants Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Tire Repair Equipment And Techniques, Including Patching, Balancing, And Mounting. This Knowledge Will Ensure The Ability To Perform Tasks Accurately And Efficiently.

  • Excellent Customer Service Skills: As A Tire Service Repairer, The Candidate Will Be Interacting With Customers On A Daily Basis. Therefore, Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills Are Essential For Providing A Positive Experience For Customers.
