As a Heavy Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of vehicles, from dump trucks to street sweepers, ensuring that they are in top condition to support the daily operations of our city.   1. Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on a variety of heavy equipment, including dump trucks, street sweepers, and other specialized vehicles.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with heavy equipment, utilizing diagnostic tools and equipment.
  3. Perform thorough inspections to identify potential problems and ensure all equipment is in safe and working condition.
  4. Follow manufacturer's guidelines for maintenance and repair, as well as adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
  5. Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed on heavy equipment.
  6. Work with other team members to coordinate maintenance schedules and prioritize repairs.
  7. Order and maintain inventory of necessary parts and supplies for repairs.
  8. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members about any issues or concerns with equipment.
  9. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools and equipment.
  10. Continuously seek opportunities for improvement, including implementing new technologies or techniques to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  11. Adhere to all city policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  12. Provide exceptional customer service to all city departments and employees.
  13. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  14. Stay up-to-date on industry advancements and changes in technology related to heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  15. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the City of Las Vegas.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Heavy Equipment Maintenance And Repair.

  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent, With Additional Technical Training Or Certification Preferred.

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License And Clean Driving Record.

  • Knowledge Of Various Heavy Equipment Such As Dump Trucks, Bulldozers, And Excavators.

  • Ability To Read And Interpret Technical Manuals And Schematics For Troubleshooting And Repair.
