- Create and implement engaging and effective dance lessons for students of all ages and levels.
- Provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for students to learn and grow in.
- Utilize your expertise and passion for dance to inspire and motivate students.
- Continuously assess and adjust lesson plans to meet the needs of individual students and the class as a whole.
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere for students.
- Communicate effectively with students and their families regarding class progress, expectations, and any concerns.
- Collaborate with other Instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive and well-rounded dance program.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and represent the City of Las Vegas in a positive manner.
- Stay current with industry trends and incorporate new techniques and styles into dance curriculum.
- Act as a role model for students, promoting discipline, respect, and a love for the art of dance.
- Encourage students to participate in performances and competitions, and help prepare them for these events.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Uphold safety standards and ensure a safe learning environment for all students.
- Keep accurate records of attendance, progress, and any incidents.
- Engage with the community and promote the dance program to attract new students.
- Continuously strive to improve and enhance the dance program and its offerings.
Extensive Dance Training And Experience: The Ideal Candidate For An Instructor (Dance) Job At City Of Las Vegas Should Have A Strong Background In Various Dance Styles And Techniques. This May Include Formal Training In Dance Schools, Participation In Dance Competitions, Or Professional Experience As A Dancer.
Teaching Experience: Previous Experience Teaching Dance Classes Or Workshops Is An Important Qualification For This Role. The Candidate Should Be Able To Effectively Communicate And Demonstrate Dance Techniques To Students Of All Ages And Levels.
Strong Choreography Skills: An Instructor (Dance) At City Of Las Vegas Should Have The Ability To Create And Choreograph Original Dance Routines For Performances Or Competitions. This Requires A Creative And Artistic Mindset, As Well As A Good Understanding Of Music And Rhythm.
Knowledge Of Dance Safety And Injury Prevention: As A Dance Instructor, It Is Important To Prioritize The Safety And Well-Being Of Students. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Knowledge Of Proper Warm-Up And Stretching Techniques, As Well As How To Prevent And Respond To Dance-Related Injuries.
