- Plan and lead youth sports programs, including practices, games, and special events.
- Teach fundamental skills and techniques in various sports to children of all ages.
- Create a positive and inclusive environment for youth to learn and grow in sports.
- Develop lesson plans and activities that promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and fair play.
- Communicate effectively with parents, participants, and colleagues regarding program updates and expectations.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants at all times.
- Adapt teaching methods and strategies to meet the diverse needs and abilities of youth.
- Serve as a role model for sportsmanship, respect, and integrity.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to promote a cohesive and successful program.
- Continuously evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the program and make necessary adjustments for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance and participant progress.
- Attend training and meetings as required by the City of Las Vegas.
- Uphold and enforce all rules and regulations set forth by the City of Las Vegas and the sports program.
- Provide guidance and support for youth in their personal and athletic development.
- Foster a love for sports and physical activity in all participants.
Experience Coaching Or Teaching Youth Sports: Applicants Should Have Prior Experience Working With Children In A Sports Setting, Either As A Coach Or Instructor. This Will Demonstrate Their Ability To Effectively Communicate And Engage With Young Athletes.
Knowledge Of Various Sports And Rules: The Ideal Candidate Should Be Well-Versed In A Variety Of Sports, Including But Not Limited To Basketball, Soccer, And Baseball. They Should Also Have A Solid Understanding Of The Rules And Regulations For Each Sport.
Cpr And First Aid Certification: As A Instructor Of Youth Sports, It Is Important To Have The Proper Training And Skills To Handle Potential Injuries Or Emergencies. Cpr And First Aid Certification Is A Must For This Position.
Strong Communication Skills: The Instructor Will Be Responsible For Communicating With Both Children And Parents, So Excellent Verbal And Written Communication Skills Are Essential. They Should Also Be Able To Adapt Their Communication Style To Effectively Work With Children Of Different Ages And Backgrounds.
Passion For Working With Children: The Most Successful Instructors Are Those Who Have A Genuine Passion For Working With Children And Helping Them Develop Their Skills And Love For Sports. This Quality Will Be Evident In Their Enthusiasm, Patience, And Ability To Motivate And Inspire Young Athletes.
