
Recreation Specialist

- Develop and coordinate a diverse range of recreational activities and programs for individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
- Collaborate with other team members to plan and organize events and activities that align with the needs and interests of the community.
- Utilize creativity and innovation to continuously improve and expand the city's recreational offerings.
- Communicate effectively with community members, staff, and partners to promote and advertise recreational programs and activities.
- Ensure that all programs and activities adhere to safety and risk management guidelines.
- Manage program budgets and resources effectively to provide high-quality and cost-effective recreational opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on program participation, attendance, and feedback.
- Recruit, train, and supervise program staff and volunteers.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes diversity and inclusivity in all recreational activities and programs.
- Collaborate with community partners and stakeholders to identify and implement new programs and initiatives.
- Continuously evaluate and assess program effectiveness and make necessary improvements to meet the needs of the community.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure the city's recreational programs remain relevant and engaging.
- Represent the city at community events and meetings to promote and support recreational programs and services.
- Handle any issues or concerns related to recreational activities and programs in a timely and professional manner.
- Uphold the values and mission of the City of Los Alamitos in all aspects of the role.
Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Management, Leisure Studies, Or Related Field
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience In Planning And Implementing Recreational Programs
Knowledge Of Community Resources And Recreational Opportunities In The City Of Los Alamitos
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Diverse Groups Of People
Ability To Obtain And Maintain Necessary Certifications, Such As Cpr And First Aid, Lifeguard, And/Or Fitness Instructor Certifications.
