- Uphold the laws and ordinances of the City of Menlo Park through regular patrols, investigations, and enforcement actions.
- Respond to calls for service and emergency situations in a timely and professional manner.
- Conduct thorough and accurate investigations of crimes and incidents, gather evidence, and make arrests when necessary.
- Maintain a visible presence in the community by patrolling assigned areas and engaging with residents and businesses.
- Communicate effectively with members of the public, colleagues, and other agencies in a respectful and professional manner.
- Use critical thinking skills to assess situations and make appropriate decisions, including the use of force when necessary.
- Attend and participate in training and departmental meetings to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
- Document all actions and incidents in accordance with department policies and procedures.
- Provide assistance and support to other law enforcement agencies as needed.
- Conduct community outreach and education programs to promote crime prevention and public safety.
- Participate in specialized units, such as K-9, SWAT, or detective work, as assigned.
- Adhere to departmental policies and procedures, as well as local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Maintain physical fitness and firearms proficiency to ensure readiness for duty.
- Serve as a positive role model and ambassador for the City of Menlo Park and its Police Department.
Minimum Of 2 Years Experience As A Sworn Police Officer With A Municipal Or County Agency.
Possession Of A Valid California Post Basic Certificate Or Equivalent.
Completion Of A Recognized Peace Officer Standards And Training (Post) Academy.
Valid California Driver's License And A Safe Driving Record.
Ability To Pass A Comprehensive Background Investigation, Psychological And Medical Examination, And Drug Screening.
