- Assist in the installation and maintenance of utility systems, including water, sewer, and gas lines.
- Perform routine inspections and repairs on utility equipment and infrastructure.
- Operate heavy machinery, such as backhoes and excavators, to dig trenches and lay utility lines.
- Respond to service calls and emergency situations in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate daily tasks and ensure efficient workflow.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing duties.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
- Continuously monitor utility systems and report any issues or abnormalities to the appropriate personnel.

- Assist in snow removal and other seasonal city services as needed.

- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
High School Diploma Or Equivalent: At A Minimum, A Utility Worker-Distribution Crew Position At The City Of O'fallon Requires A High School Diploma Or Equivalent.
Valid Driver's License: Applicants Must Possess A Valid Driver's License To Operate City Vehicles And Equipment.
Knowledge Of Utility Systems: A Strong Understanding Of Utility Systems, Including Water And Sewer Distribution, Is Necessary For This Role.
Physical Fitness: Utility Workers Often Perform Physically Demanding Tasks, Such As Lifting Heavy Equipment And Working In Inclement Weather Conditions, So Applicants Must Be In Good Physical Condition.
Prior Experience: Previous Experience In A Similar Role, Such As Construction, Maintenance, Or Utility Work, Is Preferred. This Demonstrates The Ability To Handle The Physical Demands And Technical Aspects Of The Job.
