We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Park Maintenance Worker to join our team.   1. Maintain and preserve the City of Omaha's parks to ensure they are safe, clean, and visually appealing for the community.
  2. Conduct regular inspections and assessments of park facilities and grounds to identify and address any maintenance or repair needs.
  3. Perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including but not limited to mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, and watering of park landscapes.
  4. Operate and maintain various park equipment, tools, and vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
  5. Assist with the installation and maintenance of park amenities, such as playground equipment, picnic tables, and benches.
  6. Monitor and report any safety hazards or concerns within the parks to the appropriate authorities.
  7. Collaborate with other park maintenance workers and city departments to ensure timely completion of projects and tasks.
  8. Provide exceptional customer service to park visitors, answering questions and addressing concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  9. Maintain accurate records and reports of daily activities, including work performed, materials used, and time spent on tasks.
  10. Follow all city and departmental policies and procedures, including safety protocols and regulations, while performing job duties.
  11. Participate in training and development opportunities to improve skills and knowledge related to park maintenance.
  12. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed to accommodate park events and emergencies.
  13. Uphold the City of Omaha's mission and values, promoting a positive image of the city and its parks.

Job Qualifications
  • Experience In Park Maintenance: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Prior Experience In Park Maintenance Or A Related Field. This Includes Knowledge Of Landscaping, Irrigation Systems, And General Park Upkeep.

  • Ability To Operate Equipment: The Job May Require The Use Of Various Equipment Such As Lawn Mowers, Trimmers, And Power Tools. The Candidate Should Have Experience In Operating And Maintaining These Tools.

  • Physical Fitness: Park Maintenance Work Can Be Physically Demanding, Requiring The Ability To Lift Heavy Objects, Work In Various Weather Conditions, And Perform Manual Labor For Extended Periods Of Time.

  • Knowledge Of Safety Protocols: The Candidate Should Have A Good Understanding Of Safety Protocols And Procedures, Such As Proper Handling Of Chemicals, Use Of Personal Protective Equipment, And Safe Operation Of Equipment.

  • Communication Skills: As A Park Maintenance Worker, The Candidate Will Be Working With A Team And Interacting With The Public. Strong Communication Skills Are Necessary To Effectively Communicate With Coworkers And Members Of The Community.
