Public Works Inspector

Inspect all public and private public works construction projects including State, Riverside County Flood Control and utility agencies in the right-of-way; ensure conformance with City standard specifications and safety standards. Prepare and review detailed logs and reports of all public works construction; operate and provide soil compaction testing for all public works construction projects. Take samples of soil for soil compaction examination or analysis by laboratories; review tests of material. Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for inspecting public & private public works construction projects. Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; implement approved policies and procedures. Monitor expenditures and submit budget recommendations. Provide gas detection testing for any confined space facility for all public works construction.
