  1. Coordinate and implement emergency preparedness plans for the City of Philadelphia.
  2. Develop and conduct training programs for emergency response personnel.
  3. Serve as the main point of contact for all emergency response efforts.
  4. Monitor and assess potential threats to the city and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  5. Maintain and update emergency response protocols and procedures.
  6. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure a coordinated and effective response to emergencies.
  7. Oversee the distribution and maintenance of emergency equipment and supplies.
  8. Stay current on industry developments and best practices in emergency management.
  9. Act as a liaison between the city and external agencies, organizations, and community groups.
  10. Participate in emergency response drills and exercises to evaluate and improve response plans.
  11. Communicate with the public and media during emergencies to provide accurate and timely information.
  12. Analyze and report on emergency response data to identify areas for improvement.
  13. Train and supervise emergency response personnel.
  14. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to emergency management.
  15. Participate in emergency operations center activities during crises.
  16. Respond to emergencies as needed and provide support to on-site personnel.
  17. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to emergency response.
  18. Assist in the development and management of the department's budget.
  19. Serve as a role model for professionalism, integrity, and dedication to public service.
  20. Continuously assess and improve emergency response plans and procedures to ensure the safety and security of the city.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Emergency Management, Or A Related Field

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Emergency Response, Disaster Planning, Or Homeland Security Operations

  • Proficiency In Emergency Management Software And Technology, Such As Gis Mapping And Incident Management Systems

  • Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Laws And Regulations Related To Emergency Management And Homeland Security

  • Effective Communication And Leadership Skills, With Experience In Coordinating And Managing Multi-Agency Emergency Response Teams.
