  1. Conduct thorough inspections of residential construction projects to ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
  2. Document and report any violations or deficiencies found during inspections.
  3. Review building plans and specifications to ensure they meet code requirements.
  4. Communicate with contractors and construction teams to address any issues or concerns and provide guidance on meeting code standards.
  5. Stay up-to-date with changes in building codes and regulations to ensure compliance.
  6. Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure that any identified issues have been addressed.
  7. Collaborate with other city departments and agencies to coordinate inspections and address any cross-departmental concerns.
  8. Educate and inform residents and contractors on building codes and safety standards.
  9. Keep accurate records of inspection reports, violations, and corrective actions taken.
  10. Provide recommendations for improving the construction process and ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
  11. Serve as a resource for city officials and the public regarding construction and building code questions and concerns.
  12. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in construction and building codes.
  13. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the City of Pittsburgh and its values.
