
Legal Secretary

As a Legal Secretary, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal department with administrative tasks and ensuring the smooth operation of our legal processes. - Provide administrative support to the legal department by managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and organizing documents.
- Assist with the preparation and filing of legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, and motions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of legal cases and correspondence.
- Communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and court personnel in a professional and courteous manner.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases.
- Proofread and edit legal documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including distributing and filing documents.
- Manage and maintain the department's electronic and paper filing systems.
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
- Prepare and submit expense reports and assist with managing department budgets.
- Maintain confidentiality of all legal matters and sensitive information.
- Collaborate with other members of the legal team to ensure efficient and effective workflow.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations to assist with legal research and document preparation.
- Perform other administrative tasks and duties as assigned by the legal team.
- Uphold the values and mission of the City of Pittsburgh in all job duties and interactions.
A Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience As A Legal Secretary In A Law Firm Or Government Agency.
Proficiency In Legal Terminology And Procedures, Including Knowledge Of Legal Documents And Court Filings.
Excellent Organizational And Time Management Skills, With The Ability To Prioritize Tasks And Meet Deadlines.
Strong Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, With The Ability To Interact Professionally With Attorneys, Staff, And The Public.
Proficiency In Microsoft Office And Other Relevant Software, With The Ability To Quickly Learn New Programs And Adapt To Changing Technology.
