- Develop and implement community plans and strategies that align with the overall vision and goals of the City of Pittsburgh.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including community organizations, government agencies, and residents, to gather input and ensure their needs are considered in planning processes.
- Conduct research and analysis to inform decision-making and identify potential challenges and opportunities within the community.
- Identify and recommend policies, programs, and initiatives to promote sustainable growth, economic development, and community well-being.
- Facilitate public meetings, workshops, and forums to gather feedback and communicate plans and initiatives to the community.
- Monitor and track progress of community plans and projects, and make adjustments as needed to ensure successful implementation.
- Provide technical assistance and support to other city departments and external organizations on community planning matters.
- Stay current on industry trends and best practices in urban planning and incorporate them into planning efforts.
- Develop and manage budgets and grant applications to secure funding for community initiatives.
- Serve as a representative of the City of Pittsburgh at local, regional, and national conferences and events related to community planning.
Bachelor's Degree In Urban Planning, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Community Planning, Preferably In A Municipal Government Setting.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Local, State, And Federal Planning Laws And Regulations.
Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Conduct Research, Analyze Data, And Make Recommendations.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Engage And Collaborate With Diverse Community Stakeholders.
