Specialist, Environmental Enforcement

1. Enforce environmental laws and regulations to protect the health and safety of the community.

4. Conduct thorough and accurate research to gather evidence and information for enforcement actions.
5. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including community members, to address environmental concerns and provide updates on enforcement actions.
6. Conduct inspections of facilities and sites to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
7. Prepare and issue citations, fines, and other enforcement actions as necessary.
8. Maintain accurate and organized records of investigations, enforcement actions, and other relevant information.
9. Stay current on environmental laws and regulations and make recommendations for updates or changes as needed.
10. Assist in developing and implementing environmental compliance programs and initiatives.
11. Provide guidance and assistance to other city departments and staff on environmental regulations and best practices.
12. Collaborate with legal counsel to prepare and present cases in court as needed.
13. Conduct outreach and education to community members and businesses on environmental regulations and compliance.
14. Identify and report potential environmental hazards and concerns to appropriate agencies.
15. Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in environmental enforcement.
