Job Description

Responds to fire alarms and other emergency calls to protect life and property; drives, operates and maintains fire apparatus and equipment; assumes a lead responsibility or performs specialized functions in the implementation of public education programs, fire prevention, fire inspection, code enforcement programs, and support services programs. Performs routine and minor repairs and inspects fire apparatus and equipment. Trains personnel in the operation and maintenance of fire apparatus and equipment. Reports on equipment maintenance and work operations using a personal computer, or other types of office equipment. May perform engineering plan checks and technical inspections of fire and life safety systems.

Job Qualifications

Three years of current consecutive firefighting or other sworn fire services experience
Minimum of 1 year of career service as a Fire Engineer or Apparatus Operator.
Knowledge of Operation, use, and maintenance of pump engines, fire apparatus, and fire equipment.
