- Oversee and manage the development and execution of the city's capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resources to effectively manage and track progress.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, such as city officials, contractors, engineers, and community members, to ensure project objectives are met.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, address any issues or concerns, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Prepare and present project updates and reports to city officials and other stakeholders.
- Manage project budgets, including forecasting and tracking expenses, and making adjustments as needed.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of goods and services.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, consultants, and other project team members.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential project risks and issues.
- Ensure all projects adhere to the city's sustainability, diversity, and innovation goals.
- Provide leadership and direction to project teams, including assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and providing guidance and support.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to capital project management.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and professional development.
- Represent the City of Portland in a professional and positive manner at all times.
- Other duties as assigned by the City Manager or department head.
Bachelor's Degree In Construction Management, Project Management, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Capital Project Management, Preferably In A Public Sector Setting.
Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Regulations And Requirements Related To Capital Projects.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Collaborate With Various Stakeholders And Teams.
Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing Large And Complex Capital Projects Within Budget And On Schedule.
