Job Description

The City of Portland, Oregon is seeking a qualified, experienced, and highly motivated Public Information Officer to join its team. This position is responsible for proactively engaging the public and promoting the City's programs, services, and initiatives. The successful candidate will use their knowledge and expertise to develop and execute effective public information campaigns, maintain relationships with the media, and ensure timely and accurate communication of City information. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, or a related field; at least five years of experience in public information, public relations, or public affairs; and excellent writing and editing skills. Additionally, the candidate must have superior interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with members of the public, media, and government officials. The ability to effectively manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment is a must. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team player who demonstrates a commitment to the City of Portland's mission and values.
