Job Description

  1. Plan and implement engaging and age-appropriate activities for teenagers in a safe and inclusive environment.
  2. Collaborate with other team members to develop and execute a comprehensive program schedule for the teen program.
  3. Ensure that all activities and events adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.
  4. Build positive relationships with teen participants and serve as a positive role model for them.
  5. Evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to continuously improve the experience for teens.
  6. Communicate with parents and guardians regarding program updates, events, and any concerns.
  7. Maintain accurate records and reports of program attendance, participant feedback, and any incidents.
  8. Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers and interns for the teen program.
  9. Stay up-to-date on current trends and interests of teenagers to incorporate into program activities.
  10. Work closely with community partners to provide additional resources and opportunities for teen program participants.
  11. Serve as a liaison between the teen program and other city departments, schools, and organizations.
  12. Help promote the teen program through various marketing and outreach efforts.
  13. Attend regular staff meetings and training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  14. Maintain a positive and professional attitude while representing the City of Portland-Oregon.
  15. Adhere to all city policies and procedures and ensure the safety and security of all program participants.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Age Requirement: Applicants Must Be At Least 18 Years Old To Be Considered For The Teen Program Position.

  • Experience Working With Teenagers: Candidates Should Have Previous Experience Working With Teenagers In A Recreational Setting, Such As Summer Camps Or After-School Programs.

  • Cpr And First Aid Certification: As The Teen Program May Involve Outdoor Activities And Physical Games, Candidates Must Hold Current Cpr And First Aid Certifications.

  • Knowledge Of Recreational Programming: A Strong Understanding Of Recreational Programming And The Ability To Plan And Implement Engaging Activities For Teenagers Is Necessary For This Position.

  • Communication And Leadership Skills: The Ability To Effectively Communicate With Teenagers, As Well As Lead And Supervise A Group Of Teenagers, Is Essential For This Role.
