
Kennel Attendant
- Clean, disinfect and sterilize kennels, cages, equipment, runs and other areas of facility as directed.
- Clean and replenish food and water bowls.
- Visually inspect and monitor shelter animals, including those that are isolated or quarantined; recognize animal health problems or unusual behavior and bring them to the attention of the shelter manager.
- Replace towels and toilette paper.
- Responds to public inquiries regarding animals and the shelter; provides information within the area of assignment.
- Assist with animals when veterinarian performs routine examinations.
- Assists by administering vaccination shots.
- Administers medications to shelter animals.
Experience in the handling of animals
Knowledge of various breeds of dogs, cats and other domestic animals
Ability to learn, understand and interpret rules and regulations governing the impounding and release of animals
