  1. Develop and implement community development initiatives to enhance the quality of life for all residents in the City of San Diego.
  2. Cultivate and maintain partnerships with community organizations, local businesses, and government agencies to promote community development efforts.
  3. Collaborate with city officials and department heads to identify and prioritize community development needs and goals.
  4. Conduct research and analysis to identify trends and best practices in urban planning and development, and make recommendations for their implementation in the city.
  5. Facilitate community engagement and participation in the planning and decision-making processes for community development projects.
  6. Manage and monitor the progress of community development projects, including budgeting, timelines, and stakeholder involvement.
  7. Communicate and coordinate with city departments to ensure alignment and collaboration on community development initiatives.
  8. Serve as a liaison between the city and community stakeholders, providing updates and seeking input on development plans and projects.
  9. Represent the city at community events and meetings to promote community development initiatives and gather feedback from residents.
  10. Stay informed on current policies and regulations related to urban planning and development, and advise city officials on their impact on community development efforts.
  11. Develop and maintain relationships with local and state government agencies to secure funding and resources for community development projects.
  12. Monitor and report on the progress and impact of community development initiatives to city officials and stakeholders.
  13. Collaborate with other city departments to ensure equitable and inclusive development practices and policies.
  14. Continuously evaluate and improve community development strategies and initiatives to ensure their effectiveness and impact on the community.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Community Development, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In Community Development, Including Program Development And Implementation.

  • Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Community Development And Affordable Housing.

  • Excellent Communication Skills, Including The Ability To Work With Diverse Populations And Facilitate Community Meetings.

  • Strong Project Management Skills And The Ability To Effectively Prioritize And Manage Multiple Projects Simultaneously.
