Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Ged: To Be Considered For The Police Officer (Recruit Level) Position At City Of San Diego, Applicants Must Have A High School Diploma Or Ged. This Educational Requirement Demonstrates A Basic Level Of Academic Achievement And A Commitment To Completing Education.

  • U.s. Citizenship: All Applicants Must Be A U.s. Citizen Or Possess Permanent Resident Alien Status And Be Eligible For And Have Applied For U.s. Citizenship. This Requirement Ensures That All Officers Have The Legal Authority To Enforce Laws And Protect Citizens.

  • Valid Driver's License: A Valid Driver's License Is Required For All Police Officer (Recruit Level) Positions At City Of San Diego. This Qualification Demonstrates The Ability To Safely Operate A Vehicle And Is Essential For Responding To Emergency Situations.
