- Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical systems within the city to ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and standards.
- Identify and report any potential safety hazards or violations found during inspections.
- Collaborate with other city departments and contractors to resolve any issues or concerns regarding mechanical systems.
- Review and approve plans and specifications for new or modified mechanical systems.
- Train and mentor junior inspectors on proper inspection techniques and procedures.
- Keep accurate records of inspection findings and maintain detailed reports for future reference.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including contractors and city officials, regarding inspection results and any necessary corrective actions.
- Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure that identified issues have been addressed and resolved.
- Serve as a resource for the community by providing guidance and answering questions related to mechanical systems and regulations.
- Participate in meetings and committees to discuss and improve inspection processes and procedures.
- Continuously evaluate and improve inspection methods and techniques to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Bachelor's Degree In Mechanical Engineering Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Mechanical Inspection, Preferably In A Municipal Government Setting.
Knowledge And Understanding Of Building Codes, Standards, And Regulations Related To Mechanical Systems.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Interact With Contractors, Architects, And Other Stakeholders.
Certification As A Mechanical Inspector From A Recognized Organization, Such As The International Code Council (Icc).
