- Assist city council members in their daily tasks and responsibilities.
- Conduct research and gather information for city council members to make informed decisions.
- Manage schedules and appointments for city council members.
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and materials.
- Attend city council meetings and take detailed notes.
- Communicate effectively with city council members, city staff, and community members.
- Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Respond to inquiries and concerns from community members.
- Coordinate events and public appearances for city council members.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders in the community.
- Monitor and track relevant legislation and policies.
- Prepare reports and presentations for city council members.
- Assist in the development and implementation of city-wide initiatives and programs.
- Ensure compliance with city policies and procedures.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures within the city council office.
- Collaborate with other city departments and agencies to advance city goals and initiatives.
- Stay updated on current events and issues affecting the community.
- Serve as a representative of the city and uphold its values and mission.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree In Public Administration, Business Administration, Or A Related Field.
Previous Experience Working In A Local Government Setting, Preferably In A Council Office Or Similar Role.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Interact Professionally With Council Members, Staff, And The Public.
Knowledge Of Local Government Policies And Procedures, Including Familiarity With The City Of San Jose's Council Meetings And Processes.
Ability To Prioritize And Manage Multiple Tasks Efficiently, While Maintaining Attention To Detail And Meeting Deadlines.
