- Develop and implement strategic plans for environmental initiatives in accordance with the city's goals and objectives.
- Oversee and manage all environmental projects and programs, ensuring their successful execution and completion.
- Collaborate with city departments, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote and support environmental sustainability efforts.
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of environmental professionals, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct research and stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to environmental management.
- Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the city's environmental initiatives, representing the department in public meetings and events.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with local, state, and federal agencies to secure funding and resources for environmental projects.
- Prepare and present reports to city officials and other stakeholders, providing updates on the department's progress and results.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental laws, regulations, and permits, and take corrective action when necessary.
- Foster a culture of community engagement and outreach, promoting public education and involvement in environmental initiatives.
Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Environmental Science, Public Health, Or A Related Field.
Minimum Of 5 Years Experience In A Leadership Role Within Environmental Services Or Public Health Sector.
Strong Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Regulations Related To Environmental Protection And Waste Management.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Work Effectively With Diverse Stakeholders And Community Groups.
Proven Track Record Of Successfully Managing And Implementing Large-Scale Environmental Projects And Initiatives.
