  10. Provide exceptional customer service to residents, businesses, and other stakeholders by responding promptly and courteously to inquiries and concerns.
  11. Adhere to all city policies, procedures, and regulations related to electrical work.
  12. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  13. Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems and equipment to identify potential hazards and recommend necessary repairs or replacements.
  14. Operate and maintain various hand and power tools, equipment, and vehicles used in electrical work.
  15. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and commitment to providing high-quality service to the community.

Job Qualifications
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License: The City Of San Jose Requires All Electricians Working In Public Works Projects To Hold A Valid Journeyman Electrician License From The State Of California. This Ensures That The Electrician Has Received The Necessary Training And Has The Required Skills And Knowledge To Perform Electrical Work Safely And Efficiently.

  • Experience In Public Works Projects: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience Working On Public Works Projects. This Could Include Experience In Installing, Maintaining, And Repairing Electrical Systems In Municipal Buildings, Streets, And Other Public Facilities.

  • Knowledge Of Local Building Codes And Regulations: The Electrician Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Local Building Codes, Regulations, And Safety Standards. This Includes Knowledge Of The National Electrical Code (Nec) And The California Electrical Code (Cec) To Ensure Compliance With All Applicable Codes And Standards.

  • Ability To Read And Interpret Blueprints And Schematics: Working On Public Works Projects Often Requires The Electrician To Read And Interpret Complex Blueprints And Schematics. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Strong Technical Skills And The Ability To Understand And Follow Detailed Electrical Drawings.

  • Strong Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills: Public Works Projects Can Present A Variety Of Electrical Challenges, And The Electrician Should Be Able To Troubleshoot And Solve Problems Effectively. This Includes The Ability To Identify And Resolve Electrical Issues Quickly And Efficiently, While Adhering To Safety Protocols And Regulations.
