- Develop and implement strategies to promote a positive and inclusive work environment for all employees.
- Provide expert guidance and support to managers and employees on complex employee relations matters.
- Investigate and resolve employee complaints and conflicts, ensuring fair and consistent treatment.
- Create and maintain policies and procedures related to employee relations, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
- Collaborate with the City Manager's Office and Human Resources Department to develop and implement initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention.
- Conduct training and workshops for managers and employees on topics such as conflict resolution, diversity and inclusion, and harassment prevention.
- Serve as a liaison between employees and management to facilitate open communication and address issues or concerns.
- Analyze employee relations data and identify trends to make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on current employment laws and regulations and proactively advise on potential impacts to the organization.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, respect, and teamwork within the organization.
- Manage a team of employee relations professionals, providing coaching and development opportunities.
- Collaborate with other departments and external stakeholders to promote a positive employer brand and reputation.
- Represent the City in legal proceedings related to employee relations matters.
- Act as a resource and advisor to the City Manager's Office and Human Resources Department on employee relations issues.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of employee relations programs and make recommendations for improvements.
Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Human Resources Management Or Employee Relations, Preferably In A Public Sector Environment.
Bachelor's Degree In Human Resources, Business Administration, Or A Related Field. A Master's Degree Is Preferred.
Strong Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Employment Laws And Regulations.
Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, Including The Ability To Build Relationships And Resolve Conflicts Effectively.
Demonstrated Experience In Developing And Implementing Policies And Procedures Related To Employee Relations, Performance Management, And Employee Development.
