  1. Develop and implement recreational programs and events for individuals of all ages in the community.
  2. Plan and coordinate various recreational activities, such as sports leagues, fitness classes, arts and cultural events, and community gatherings.
  3. Collaborate with other city departments, local organizations, and volunteers to ensure successful execution of recreational programs and events.
  4. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  5. Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in the recreation field to ensure programs and events are engaging and relevant to the community.
  6. Communicate effectively with community members, staff, and volunteers to promote and market recreational programs and events.
  7. Maintain accurate records and reports related to program attendance, budget, and participant feedback.
  8. Develop and manage program budgets, including securing sponsorships and grants.
  9. Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by following proper safety protocols and procedures.
  10. Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries and concerns from community members in a timely and professional manner.
  11. Train and supervise part-time staff, volunteers, and interns to assist with program implementation and event coordination.
  12. Collaborate with community leaders and stakeholders to identify and address the recreational needs of the community.
  13. Continuously seek opportunities to engage and involve underserved populations in recreational activities.
  14. Act as a positive role model for participants and promote an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
  15. Represent the City of Santa Clara at various community events and meetings to promote recreational programs and services.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Recreation Management, Leisure Studies, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In Planning And Implementing Recreation Programs And Activities.

  • Knowledge Of Local Community Resources And Ability To Collaborate With Community Organizations.

  • Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills To Effectively Interact With Diverse Populations And Stakeholders.

  • Certification In Cpr And First Aid, Or Willingness To Obtain Within First 6 Months Of Employment.
