  1. Lead and manage the Engineering Services department, providing direction and guidance to a team of engineers and support staff.

  3. Oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of various public works projects, including roads, bridges, stormwater systems, and facilities.

  8. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting the use of new technologies and methods to enhance engineering processes and practices.
  9. Represent the city in public meetings and hearings, communicating complex engineering concepts and projects to a variety of audiences.
  10. Mentor and develop staff, providing guidance and support for career growth and professional development.
  11. Act as a liaison between the Engineering Services department and other city departments, as well as external agencies and organizations.
  12. Demonstrate a strong commitment to public service and promoting the overall goals and values of the City of Santa Rosa.

Job Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (Pe) License In The State Of California.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Civil Engineering Or Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 8 Years Of Experience In Engineering, Preferably In A Municipal Or Public Works Setting.

  • Strong Leadership Skills And Experience Managing A Team Of Engineers And Technical Staff.

  • Knowledge Of Local, State, And Federal Regulations And Standards Related To Engineering And Public Works Projects.
