
Senior Maintenance Worker - Recreation and Parks

- Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all public parks and recreational facilities in the City of Santa Rosa.
- Lead a team of maintenance workers and provide guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Develop and implement maintenance plans and schedules to ensure all facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
- Conduct regular inspections of parks and facilities to identify any maintenance needs and address them promptly.
- Manage and maintain all equipment and tools necessary for maintenance and repair work.
- Communicate and coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to prioritize and schedule maintenance projects.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols to create a safe environment for staff and community members.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors for procurement of necessary materials and services.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of maintenance activities, expenses, and inventory.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve and enhance the quality and efficiency of maintenance operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to community members and address any concerns or issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Participate in budget planning and management for the maintenance department.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in maintenance techniques and equipment.
- Train and mentor new or junior maintenance workers to ensure high-quality work and adherence to department standards.
- Represent the City of Santa Rosa and the Recreation and Parks department in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Extensive Experience In Maintenance And Repair Work: A Senior Maintenance Worker Should Have A Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In A Similar Role, With A Strong Understanding Of Maintenance And Repair Techniques For Facilities And Equipment Used In Recreation And Parks.
Knowledge Of Safety Regulations And Procedures: As A Key Member Of The Maintenance Team, The Senior Maintenance Worker Must Have A Thorough Understanding Of Safety Protocols And Regulations To Ensure The Safety Of Staff And Visitors In Recreation And Parks Facilities.
Ability To Lead And Supervise A Team: This Role Requires A Strong Leader Who Can Effectively Manage And Supervise A Team Of Maintenance Workers. A Senior Maintenance Worker Should Have Experience In Delegating Tasks, Providing Guidance And Training, And Ensuring A High Standard Of Work From Their Team.
Familiarity With Recreational Equipment And Facilities: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Good Understanding Of Various Recreational Equipment And Facilities Such As Playgrounds, Sports Fields, And Community Centers. This Knowledge Will Be Crucial In Identifying Maintenance Needs And Providing Effective Solutions.
