- Splicing and Terminating Cables: Responsible for splicing and terminating a wide range of telecommunication cables, including both underground and aboveground cables.
- Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct regular testing and troubleshooting of telecommunication cables to ensure they are functioning properly and identify any potential issues.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on telecommunication cables to ensure their longevity and reliability.
- Adherence to Industry Standards: Knowledge and understanding of industry standards and regulations for splicing, terminating, and testing telecommunication cables.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members to complete projects and tasks efficiently and effectively.

High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Cable Splicer At The City Of Seattle Must Have A High School Diploma Or Equivalent To Demonstrate Basic Educational Skills And Understanding.
Technical Training Or Apprenticeship: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have Completed Technical Training Or An Apprenticeship In A Relevant Field Such As Electrical Or Telecommunications Work.
Experience With Cable Splicing: Previous Experience With Cable Splicing, Including Fiber Optic And Copper Cable Splicing, Is Essential For This Role. Candidates Should Be Able To Demonstrate Their Proficiency In This Skill.
Knowledge Of Safety Protocols: Cable Splicing Can Be A Hazardous Job, So It Is Essential For Candidates To Have Knowledge Of Safety Protocols And Procedures To Prevent Accidents And Injuries.
