Job Description

The City of Seattle is seeking an experienced, strategic, and passionate leader to serve as the Director of the Office of Arts and Culture (OAC). As a trusted leader and passionate advocate for Seattle’s arts and culture, the Director will cultivate an environment for the arts to thrive and for our vibrant arts and culture to be shared and celebrated. The Director will be responsible for leading the OAC in the development and implementation of the City’s vision for arts and culture, ensuring equitable access to the cultural life of our city.The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the arts and culture sector, with at least three years of professional experience in arts administration, management, and/or policy, and a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field. A successful candidate will bring vision, sound judgement, and enthusiasm to the role and will be able to collaborate in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
