Welcome to the City of Seattle! We are seeking a highly motivated HR Policy Advisor to join our dynamic team. As a HR Policy Advisor, you will play a crucial role in shaping and implementing our human resources policies to ensure a fair and inclusive workplace for all employees.   1. Develop and implement human resources policies and procedures that align with the overall goals and values of the City of Seattle.
  2. Stay up-to-date on employment laws and regulations and make recommendations for policy changes as necessary.
  3. Collaborate with department leaders and teams to ensure consistent and fair application of HR policies.
  4. Conduct research and analysis to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for policy updates.
  5. Serve as a subject matter expert on diversity, equity, and inclusion, and provide guidance to management and employees on related matters.
  6. Implement and monitor training programs to promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace.
  7. Work with external partners and community organizations to develop and implement initiatives that support diversity and inclusion.
  8. Advise and assist management and employees on sensitive and complex HR issues, including performance management, employee relations, and legal compliance.
  9. Communicate and educate employees on HR policies and procedures to ensure understanding and compliance.
  10. Collaborate with the HR team to support recruitment and retention efforts, including developing and updating job descriptions, conducting interviews, and onboarding new employees.
  11. Participate in HR audits and investigations as needed.
  12. Develop and maintain positive relationships with employees and stakeholders to promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
  13. Monitor industry trends and best practices to continually improve and update HR policies and procedures.
  14. Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management and city officials.
  15. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3-5 Years Of Experience In Human Resources Policy Development And Implementation.

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Federal, State, And Local Laws And Regulations Related To Employment And Hr Policies.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Interpret Data And Make Recommendations For Policy Improvements.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With Various Stakeholders And Present Policies To Diverse Audiences.
