In this role, you will play a vital role in overseeing and managing our mechanical engineering projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.   1. Oversee and manage all mechanical engineering projects for the City of Seattle.
  2. Ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
  3. Lead and supervise a team of mechanical engineers, providing guidance and support as needed.
  4. Develop and implement strategies to improve and maintain the city's infrastructure.
  5. Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  6. Conduct regular inspections and reviews of projects to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in mechanical engineering.
  8. Identify and address any project risks or issues in a timely manner.
  9. Manage project budgets and resources effectively.
  10. Communicate project updates and progress to relevant parties, including city officials and community members.
  11. Foster a positive and productive work environment for the mechanical engineering team.
  12. Mentor and train junior engineers to develop their skills and knowledge.
  13. Continuously evaluate and improve project processes and procedures.
  14. Represent the City of Seattle at industry events and conferences.
  15. Adhere to all city policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Mechanical Engineering Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Mechanical Engineering, With At Least 2 Years In A Supervisory Role.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Mechanical Engineering Principles, Practices, And Codes.

  • Experience In Project Management, Including Budgeting, Scheduling, And Resource Allocation.

  • Excellent Communication And Leadership Skills, With The Ability To Mentor And Train Junior Engineers And Effectively Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams.
