Park Ranger

The City of Seattle is looking for a passionate and experienced Park Ranger to join our Parks and Recreation team. As a Park Ranger, you will be responsible for protecting, preserving, and enhancing the natural beauty of Seattle’s parks and open spaces. You will also be responsible for providing information, education, and interpretation of the natural and cultural resources of our parks and open spaces, as well as providing public safety and security services.We are looking for a Park Ranger who is a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. To excel in this role, you must demonstrate a strong commitment to public service and excellent customer service skills. You must also be a strong communicator who is able to work with a variety of people, and have the ability to think and act quickly.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources Management, Park Management, or related field• Minimum of two years’ experience in park management, law enforcement, natural resources management, or related field• Knowledge of local, state and federal laws, regulations, and ordinances• Knowledge of park and open space management principles and practices• Ability to effectively communicate with the public• Ability to work independently and as part of a team• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in hazardous or emergency situations• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordIf you have a passion for protecting and preserving Seattle’s parks and open spaces, and are looking for an opportunity to make a difference in our community, we want to hear from you.
