- Develop and implement strategies and initiatives that align with the city's Race and Social Justice Initiative goals and objectives.
- Oversee and manage all operations and activities of the Race and Social Justice Division.
- Collaborate with city departments and community organizations to identify and address systemic disparities and promote racial and social equity.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify areas of improvement and develop recommendations for policy and program changes.
- Provide guidance and support to city departments in implementing equity and social justice principles in their operations and decision-making processes.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of city policies and programs on marginalized communities and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
- Serve as a spokesperson and advocate for the Race and Social Justice Initiative, representing the city's commitment to promoting justice and equality.
- Build and maintain relationships with community members and organizations to ensure their voices are heard and incorporated into city initiatives.
- Develop and manage the division's budget, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
- Lead and mentor a team of professionals, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their full potential.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in the field of racial and social justice, and incorporate them into division strategies and initiatives.
- Organize and facilitate trainings and workshops for city employees and community members on equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Collaborate with other city departments to ensure that all policies and practices are aligned with the Race and Social Justice Initiative.
- Report regularly to city leadership and stakeholders on the progress and impact of the division's work.
- Uphold and promote the city's values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the division's work.
Extensive Knowledge Of Race And Social Justice Issues: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Deep Understanding Of The Complexities Of Race And Social Justice Issues And How They Intersect With Government Policies And Initiatives.
