  1. Develop and implement long-term planning strategies for the city to promote sustainable and equitable growth.
  2. Conduct research and analysis to inform decision-making processes related to land use, zoning, and development.
  3. Collaborate with various stakeholders, including community members, government agencies, and developers, to gather input and build consensus on development projects.
  4. Review and evaluate development proposals to ensure they align with the city's goals and regulations.
  5. Provide guidance and support to city staff and other departments on planning and development matters.
  6. Develop and manage budgets and timelines for planning and development projects.
  7. Stay updated on local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to urban development and planning.
  8. Represent the city in meetings, public hearings, and other events related to planning and development.
  9. Foster a culture of diversity, inclusivity, and collaboration within the planning and development team.
  10. Identify and propose solutions to address community concerns and issues related to planning and development.
  11. Prepare and present reports, presentations, and recommendations to city officials and stakeholders.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve planning and development processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  13. Serve as a mentor and resource to junior staff members and provide guidance on complex planning and development issues.
  14. Collaborate with other city departments to ensure coordination and alignment of planning and development efforts.
  15. Promote and uphold the city's values and goals of creating a vibrant and sustainable community for all residents.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Urban Planning, Land Use, And Development Practices.

  • Knowledge And Understanding Of State And Local Laws, Regulations, And Policies Related To Planning And Development.

  • Excellent Project Management Skills, Including The Ability To Handle Multiple Projects And Meet Deadlines.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Think Strategically And Creatively.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Urban Planning, Architecture, Public Administration, Or A Related Field. Master's Degree Preferred.
