Welcome to the City of Seattle! We are seeking a skilled and dedicated System Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. As a System Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our organization's technology systems.   1. Maintain and manage all technology systems for the City of Seattle, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure the smooth operation of all systems.
  3. Monitor system performance and proactively identify and address any potential issues.
  4. Ensure all systems are up to date with the latest security patches and updates.
  5. Manage user accounts and permissions for all systems, ensuring appropriate access levels and security measures are in place.
  6. Collaborate with IT team members and other departments to identify and implement system improvements and upgrades.
  7. Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  8. Provide technical support and training to end-users as needed.
  9. Stay informed on industry trends and advancements in technology to continually improve the City's systems.
  10. Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure business continuity.
  11. Adhere to all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures related to technology systems.
  12. Effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and end-users to provide updates, gather feedback, and address any concerns.
  13. Proactively identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for streamlining processes and increasing efficiency.
  14. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive information.
  15. Continuously evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance the organization's technology infrastructure.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Technology, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 3 Years Of Experience In System Administration, Preferably In A Government Or Large Organization Setting.

  • Certification In Relevant Technologies Such As Microsoft, Linux, Or Cisco.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Network And Server Administration, Including Experience With Active Directory, Dns, And Virtualization.

  • Excellent Troubleshooting And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Handle Complex Technical Issues And Provide Timely Solutions.
