
RECREATION: Assistant Pool Manager

- Assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the community pools, including opening and closing procedures, pool maintenance, and staff scheduling.
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all patrons by enforcing pool rules and regulations and addressing any safety concerns.
- Train and supervise pool staff, including lifeguards, swim instructors, and other support staff.
- Assist with budget management, including monitoring expenses and making cost-effective decisions.
- Collaborate with other department staff to plan and implement pool events, programs, and classes.
- Communicate effectively with patrons, staff, and other stakeholders to address any concerns or issues.
- Maintain accurate records of pool usage, incidents, and staff certifications.
- Conduct regular safety drills and provide training to staff on emergency procedures.
- Stay up-to-date on industry standards and best practices related to pool management and safety.
- Assist with equipment inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
- Represent the Recreation Department at meetings and events as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work culture by promoting teamwork, professionalism, and respect among staff.
- Other duties as assigned by the Pool Manager or Recreation Department Director.
Lifeguard Certification: The Assistant Pool Manager Must Possess A Current Lifeguard Certification From A Recognized Organization Such As The American Red Cross Or The Ymca.
First Aid And Cpr Training: The Candidate Should Have Completed Training In First Aid And Cpr To Ensure Prompt And Effective Response In Case Of Any Emergencies At The Pool.
Experience In Pool Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 2 Years Of Experience In Pool Management, Including Overseeing Lifeguard Staff, Developing And Implementing Safety Procedures, And Maintaining Pool Equipment.
Knowledge Of Pool Maintenance: The Assistant Pool Manager Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Pool Maintenance, Including Chemical Testing, Water Treatment, And Pool Cleaning Procedures.
Excellent Communication Skills: The Job Requires Frequent Interaction With Pool Patrons, Lifeguard Staff, And Other City Employees. Strong Communication Skills, Both Written And Verbal, Are Essential For This Role.
