
Landscape Inspector
Under general supervision, conducts field inspections of the City's parks, facilities, median islands and landscape districts. Prepares cost estimates and monitors expenditures for materials and services. Assists in preparation of contracts and specifications. Performs inspections of landscaped areas including parks, slopes and medians; inspects athletic fields, courts and playgrounds for safety compliance. Coordinates and provides field direction, and monitors City contract maintenance operations. Assists with the City's irrigation systems, including; water use audits, system scheduling, renovation and rehabilitation, emergency repairs and backflow device testing. Prepares reports of inspections and work completed; drafts purchase orders. Reviews proposed design for City landscape improvements projects and citywide maintenance areas. Reports vandalism and graffiti issues.
4 years of experience performing landscape, construction and/or maintenance inspections.
Associate's Degree from an accredited college/university in Ornamental Horticulture or a related field is desired.
Certified Irrigation Auditor is desirable.
